Irene De Bustamante to conduct the roundtable on water at the Economic Forum

Irene De Bustamante, director of IMDEA Water, will moderate next Tuesday, March 5, a table dedicated to water, within the XI Economy Forum. The meeting, which will be held in the Congress of Deputies (Spanish Parliament), is sponsored by the Centre for Public Policy and Government Studies of the University of Alcalá.

Under the title Water management and reforestation. Biodiversity and agriculture for a more independent economy, the debate will feature expert contributions by Alberto Garrido, director of the Water Observatory of the Botín Foundation, and professor at the Polytechnic University of Madrid; Enrique Hernández, general director of the Spanish Association of Urban Water Services Management Companies (AGA), and director of Management Systems, Sustainability and Risks at Aqualia, and Luis Garrote, professor at the Higher Technical School of Civil Engineers, Canals and Ports.

Strategic autonomy is fundamental when planning any medium or long-term activity and it is essential to incorporate it into any political and economic planning. With this common thread, over two days, issues such as water and reforestation, defense, the pension system, advanced technology, microchips, cybersecurity, deficit, sovereign debt and food and energy will be shared with the members of the parliament.
