Today, IMDEA Water held the first meeting of its Industrial Advisory Committee (IAC), a consultative and strategic body that supports the Institute’s Management in applied innovation and development activities aimed at accelerating knowledge and technology transfer and addressing current and future water-related challenges.

The meeting brought together representatives from key organizations in the water sector, including Alberto Martín Palacio, Operations Manager at Cadagua (Ferrovial), and Stéphanie Aparicio Antón, Technical Secretary of the Spanish Water Technology Platform.

Members of the IAC were introduced to IMDEA Water’s main scientific and technological capabilities through presentations by its research groups. They also shared their perspectives on the sector’s key trends, challenges and needs, in an exchange designed to identify new collaboration opportunities and enhance the impact of the research carried out at the Institute.

Participants also toured the Institute’s pilot plants and laboratories, gaining first-hand insight into the infrastructures that support its research activities.

The creation of the Industrial Advisory Committee is part of IMDEA Water’s Strategic Plan and complements the work of the External Scientific Advisory Board. While the latter provides scientific guidance, the IAC brings the perspective of the industrial sector, helping to align the Institute’s activities with the most relevant challenges and opportunities in the field of water.
