He studied Biology at the Universidad de Córdoba (2019), and completed a Master’s degree in Microbiology at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2021), where he is currently conducting a PhD in Microbiology. His experience focuses on environmental microbiology applied to aquatic ecosystem quality, with particular emphasis on the ecology, diversity, and toxicity of cyanotoxin-producing cyanobacteria and the assessment of their associated environmental risks.
Since 2021, he has participated in several national and international research projects. His expertise covers all stages of samples processing, from fieldwork and sample collection to laboratory analyses using molecular techniques, DNA sequencing, microscopy, and cyanotoxin quantification methods. He has authored scientific articles published in first-quartile journals and has participated in numerous national and international scientific conferences. His professional activities combine scientific research with knowledge transfer to support environmental management, including training activities and technical workshops aimed at environmental managers and technical staff.
He is currently hired as advanced research support technician in HUMEBIOTA, project 3399/2025 funded by the Autonomous National Parks Agency of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge. The project focuses on assessing the effects of hydrological variations on aquatic and avian gut microbiota in the wetlands of Doñana National Park, with particular attention to toxic cyanobacteria and other pathogens potentially harmful to bird populations and the ecosystem.
