Degree in Biology (2007-2012) from the University of Salamanca, Master’s degree in Biology and Biodiversity Conservation (2014-2015) from the University of Salamanca, and PhD in Biology, specializing in Applied Entomology (2016-2022) from the Complutense University of Madrid. He has worked as a technician at Tragsatec on the development of improvement measures for pollinating insects within the National Pollinator Strategy and as coordinator of the taxonomic cabinet for wild bees (Hymenoptera, Apoidea, Anthophila) and hoverflies (Diptera, Syrphidae) in the project: Pollinators: Improving Knowledge, commissioned by the Ministry (MITECO) within the European framework of the EUPoMS project.

Guillermo joined IMDEA in 2025 as a technician on the CyaNoServices project, where he studies the effects of toxic cyanobacteria on aquatic and terrestrial insects and the resulting ecosystem services in three bioclimatic zones. CyaNoServices project funded by MICIU/AEI /10.13039/501100011033 and co-funded by the European Union.
