Dr Belén González Gaya receives The Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Internationl Prize for Water

El The 18th European Meeting on Environmental Chemistry have been held in Porto. This event, organised on behalf of the Association of Chemistry and the Environment, attracts every year high quality science presentations and keynote talks from internationally renowned researchers working in environmental chemistry and field relates.

Under the motto “Chemistry towards an Infinite Environment” this edition had intended to contribute for a lasting sustainability of our planet’s environment. It provided a wide forum for the exchange of ideas on recent advances in research and development in environmental chemistry and technology, for people from academia, research and industry.

Dr. Belén González Gaya, researcher at Ecotoxicology Group of IMDEA Water, has participated with the presentation “Optimizing a Clean Method for Environmental Samples: Antibiotics and Matrix Interferences in Marine Sediments, Water and Biota” result of the joint work in the areas of analytical chemistry and ecotoxicology. This work has received The Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water. The recipient has been chosen based on three criteria: suitability of the recipient to make a positive contribution to the event, need of the recipient and innovative nature of the recipient’s work in water-related studies.
