European Union-México innovation initiative: EU-MEX INNOVA
IMDEA Water Institute participates showing its main projects and research capacities in water issues

IMDEA Water participates in the event "EU-Mex innova", that is organized to promote collaboration between Europe and México. This event is having place in Mexico D.F. during 8-9th March 2016. The main objective of this event is to strenghten policy dialogue, work together in Horizon 2020 programme, to establish a joint agenda in science, technology and innovation, and to promote innovation in common industrial activities.
EU-MEX INNOVA consists of two days of brokerage events, thematic workshops about different topics (environment, health, security, energy, food, space, communication and information technologies) and research dialogues on common sectors.
IMDEA Water Institute participates showing its main projects and research capacities in water issues, with the aim to establish collaborations. To achieve that objective, several bilateral meetings have been developed with entities as Technological University of North of Aguas Calientes, Technological Institute of Monterrey and Guanajuato University among others. In these meetings, different projects as Life+ TRANSFOMEM (membranes transformation), iMETland (microbial electrochemical technologies) or SMART-HYDRO (intelligent system to optimize water use in agriculture) have been explained, together with other research areas as toxic cyanobacteria in water reservoirs, environmental risk assessment of pollutants, treated water reuse or wastewater treatments.
