High temperatures, drought and an insecticide, combined effects on freshwater zooplankton communities
XIX Conference of the Iberian Association of Limnology
The Iberian Association of Limnology has celebrated its XIX Conference in Coimbra (Portugal) under the motto “Inland waters and XXI century challenges: from scientific knowledge to environmental management”. This conference was a great occasion for the encounter of experts in the field of limnology and the main topics of concern for this year were water scarcity and pollution problems affecting arid and semiarid areas of the world. A range of risks were identified and analysed with an ecological point of view, with the objective of helping managers on future decisions in water management and aquatic ecosystems restoration.
The predoctoral researcher Alba Arenas Sánchez presented a part of the PhD project she is doing as part of the Ecotoxicology team at IMDEA Water, under the title ‘Combined effects of high temperatures, drought and an insecticide on freshwater zooplankton communities: a microcosm study’.
