The seven Madrid Institutes for Advanced Studies (IMDEA) participated

On November 6 the 1^st Conference 'IMDEA. Science, Business and Society ', was held at the headquarters of IMDEA Materials Institute and inaugurated by the president of the Community of Madrid, Cristina Cifuentes, the Counsellor of Education, Youth and Sport, Rafael Van Grieken, the President of the Rectors' Conference of the  Madrid Universities (CRUMA), Fernando Suarez, and the Secretary of State for Research, Carmen Vela.

This event brought together for the first time the seven Madrid Institutes for Advanced Studies (IMDEA). The conference was attended by important personalities belonging to the business sector and research.

The president said that with the creation of the IMDEA Institutes sought to define a space of public-private partnership to facilitate the transfer of knowledge to the productive sector, thus improving the chances of growth and employment in the region, something that has been achieved. Thus, he stressed that this meeting has enabled the exchange of experiences between IMDEA Institutes and the business sector through roundtables and conferences with prominent interventions.
