II Workshop “Study, use and management of land and water in volcanic islands”
21-23 January 2015. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The II Workshop "Study, use and management of land and water in volcanic islands" will be held from 21 to 23 January 2015 at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. These seminars aim to disseminate and share all relevant aspects of the production, availability, quality, use and management of an absolutely necessary resource as water in volcanic lands and islands.
The workshop is organized by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and it has the support of the Spanish Group of the International Association of Hydrogeologists and the Institute IMDEA Water. In addition, the contribution of IMDEA Agua is reflected in the participation of its directors, Eloy García Calvo and Irene Bustamante Gutiérrez, in the Scientific Committee.
The registration period is open until November 15, 2014. On the other hand, participants who wish to present a paper should submit an abstract by 15 September, indicating the subject area:
- Management: planning, wconomy and regulatory aspects.
- Characterization of natural resources. Groundwater and surface water.
- Unconventional Resources: desalinated and treated water.
- Water and Health: from minero-medicinal water to prevent risks and epidemics.
