IMDEA Water received the EFQM 400+ seal of European Excellence

IMDEA Water has been acknowledged with the EFQM 400+ Seal, awarded by the Club de Excelencia en Gestión. Dr Irene de Bustamante, director of the institute, received the distinction during an event held on January 30 at the headquarters of the ONCE Foundation in Madrid, which was attended by numerous representatives from the public and private sectors.
The EFQM seal is an international recognition that certifies the implementation of management models based on the EFQM Model, a system that incorporates criteria of good governance, measurement of results and adaptability in changing environments, essential to drive the transformation of organizations. Structured in three blocks, the model tries to answer different key questions for any organization: supervision, implementation and results.
During the event, the president of the Management Excellence Club and president of Pascual, Tomás Pascual Gómez-Cuétara, highlighted that the common objective of organizations is to “generate trust” in their stakeholders and show management improvements.

IMDEA Water began applying the EFQM model in 2012 to detect opportunities for improvement in management, which granted it the EFQM 300+ recognition in 2017. The seal has recognized excellence in the management of more than 3,000 organizations in the last 20 years.
According to Dr De Bustamante, the EFQM evaluation provides very enriching information about the strengths and challenges, and, above all, “about the opportunities for improvement that can be incorporated into the new 2024-2027 strategic plan.”
