IMDEA Agua participated in Transfiere 2026, held from February 24 to 26 in Málaga. With its presence at the leading European forum for science, technology, and innovation, the institute reinforced its commitment to knowledge transfer and public-private collaboration in strategic R&D&I areas.

Alongside the other IMDEA institutes, the centre presented its scientific and technological capabilities and its portfolio of projects focused on applied innovation. The agenda included bilateral meetings with companies, universities, and institutional representatives to identify new opportunities for national and international cooperation.

In addition to its institutional presence, the centre showcased Metfilter’s technological developments at the Research Centre of the Community of Madrid and the madri+d Knowledge Foundation. The spinoff’s chief scientist and founder, Dr Abraham Esteve Núñez, highlighted the possibilities for water regeneration and reuse. This participation highlights the institute’s ability to transform research results into marketable business initiatives.

The Transfiere Forum is organised by the Malaga City Council, the Regional Ministry of Universities, Research and Innovation of the Andalusian Regional Government, and the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. With this involvement, IMDEA Agua reinforces its position as a leader in the generation and transfer of knowledge and its role as a driving force for technological advance.
