IMDEA Water hosted a training seminar on the use and applications of one of the liquid chromatography equipments

IMDEA Water participates in the fourth edition of the Master of chromatographic techniques taught by the Center for Applied Chemistry and Biotechnology (CQAB) of the University of Alcalá. IMDEA Water hosted a training seminar on the use and applications of one of the liquid chromatography equipments coupled with high resolution (HR) mass spectrometry (LC-MS) high resolution (HR) and available in the water laboratory of IMDEA Water.

The seminar was divided into two session, a theoretical session that was carried out by the company Sciex who explained the latest advances in operation of the TripleTOF ™ 5600 equipment, available in the laboratory, which combines the highest sensitivity detection, high resolution, speed of data production at least 5 times higher than any other instrument and stable mass accuracy  (~ 1 ppm), and a second practical session carried out by the laboratory technicians from IMDEA Water and Sciex, which presented one of the applications which is currently being developed with this equipment to carry out the "Screening analysis of pharmaceutical compounds and pesticides in water".

IMDEA Water is continuously developing new analytical methods to adapt to the new requirements established in the current legislation on control of water quality.
