This document summarizes the activities carried out by the institution throughout 2020, including its research projects, contracts and other grants for innovation and international initiatives. Similarly, the report outlines the research infrastructures within the Institute, as well as its human capital.
In a year marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, IMDEA Agua shifted some activities into an online format, especially its outreach programmes.
In 2020, IMDEA Water was involved in several international projects, most of them H2020 projects, as well as on classic topics such as microbial electrochemical technologies, reuse, ecotoxicology, chemical and microbiological quality, and economic and institutional analysis. Work was also carried out on national projects in areas such as membrane recovery, analysis, and removal of microplastics and early detection of cyanobacteria.
In addition, we published numerous articles in high impact journals, book chapters and scientific-technical reports.
Among the awards received this year, it must be highlighted that the iMETland project came second in the EU KETBIO awards.
