Virtudes Martínez and Isabel López attended the congress

Dr. Virtudes Martínez, researcher at Soil and Water Quality in the Environment Group, and Dr. Isabel López, technical staff in Development laboratories, attended to the workshop " Global Summit on Regulatory Science 2019, GSRS19 ", which took place on 24^th-26^th September at Lago Maggiore, Italy.

The GSRS19 is co-organised by European commision´s Joint Research Center (JRC) and the Global Coalition for Regulatory Science Research (GCRSR). On this occasion, the main topic of the workshop was focused on Nanotechnology and Nanoplastics.

GSRS19 brought together scientists from government, industry, and academic research communities from around the world for addressing regulatory-research questions concerning Nanotechnology and Nanoplastics. The conference provided a platform where regulators, policy makers, and bench scientific can exchange views on innovative methodologies and regulatory assessments, as well as, harmonising strategy via global collaboration.

In IMDEA Water, different research groups are involved in the development of projects relalated to the presence of nanoplastics in enviroment. The attendance to this congress alloed to have a vision of the needs and limitations existing in this field.
