This year, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science has focused on the role of women, girls and science in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals as a prelude to the upcoming High Level Political Forum. The forum will take an in-depth look at Goal 6 (safe drinking water and sanitation), Goal 7 (affordable and clean energy), Goal 9 (industry, innovation and infrastructure), Goal 11 (sustainable cities and communities) and Goal 17 (partnerships to achieve the goals). The seventh celebration of the Day will also follow up on the water debates under the theme “Water unites us”.
These outreach activities are framed in the MADRIDNIGHT project, which is coordinated by Fundación madri+d and funded by the European Union within the Horizon Europe Programme, under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions with grant agreement no. 101061343.
