Irene Malonda holds a PhD in Biological Sciences from the “Universidad Autónoma de Madrid” with an European mention, a Master’s degree in Science and Innovation Management from the “Universidad Politécnica de Valencia”, and a Master’s degree in Waste Management and Treatment from the “Universidad Autónoma de Madrid”.

She has over 10 years of experience as a researcher in marine and aquatic ecology at universities and research centers, and as an environmental consultant for various companies. Since 2014, she has worked as an innovation technician and project manager in universities and companies, focusing on the submission and management of projects in diverse thematic areas such as environment, fisheries and aquaculture, energy, biotechnology, and neuroscience. She also worked as a Promotion Technician in the European Projects Office at the University of Alcalá.

She conducted her PhD research with fellowships from the “la Caixa” Foundation and the Martín Escudero Foundation, followed by a Torres Quevedo grant to join a consulting firm as an R&D technician.
