​Consortium meeting in Athens

The latest advances of the H2020 MIDES project were presented at the international conference of the European Desalination Society (EDS), held in Athens from 3 to 6 September. Alongside the conference, the members of the consortium held the general assembly in order to review the tasks and milestones achieved.

The objective of the EDS conference was to explore cooperation and innovation in the water sector, in order to provide drinking water for all, at an affordable cost and with low energy requirements. In this sense, the MIDES project aims to revolutionize desalination by developing a sustainable process of producing drinking water from seawater with low energy consumption.

In addition to the various presentations presented with the latest developments of the project throughout the conference, MIDES was present in the European Union's pavilion dedicated to the H2020 program.

General Assembly

In parallel to the EDS conference, the members of the consortium held the general assembly in order to determine the milestones achieved and coordinate the pending tasks. The meeting was organised by the companies Simtech (Austria) and Mickrolin (Hungary).

MIDES is funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme under grant agreement N. 685793. The consortium, coordinated by aqualia, is made up of 12 companies and research centres from eight countries.
