Abir Neji is a hydraulic and planning engineer specialized in water and waste management and treatment from the Higher School of Engineers of Medjez El Bab (Tunisia). She holds an international master’s degree in water management and governance in the natural and agricultural environment from CIHEAM Zaragoza.
From September 2023 to July 2024, she worked at EEAD-CSIC within the project PID2021-1224095OB-I00 “Sustainability of irrigation modernization: zebra mussel control in pressurized networks and optimization of sprinkler irrigation on plot (ZEMUSPRES).” Her master’s research focused on assessing intra- and inter-sectoral variability of sprinkler irrigation performance in plots irrigated with fixed sprinklers, using standard methods and innovative tools such as drone-based remote thermography and numerical simulations.
Since July 1, 2025, she has been a predoctoral researcher at IMDEA Water within the Natura project (CNS20226135132), funded by MICIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and the European Union NextGenerationEU/PRTR. Her doctoral thesis focuses on hydroeconomic modeling and mathematical programming.
