Graduate in Environmental Sciences from the University of Alcalá (2023) and a Master’s degree in microbiology from the Autonomous University of Madrid (2024). His training has focused on the use of microorganisms for the development of sustainable biotechnological applications.

During his undergraduate studies, he investigated the biodegradation of industrial dyes and emerging contaminants using extracellular enzymes produced by ligninolytic fungi. Later, during his master’s studies, he specialized in comparative genomics and in the production, optimization, and biotechnological applications of exopolysaccharides synthesized by bacteria of the Halomonadaceae family, isolated from the extreme environment of the Salar de Uyuni (Bolivia), in collaboration with the Severo Ochoa Centre for Molecular Biology (CBM).

He is currently pursuing his doctoral thesis within the Aquatic Ecology and Biotechnology group and the Soil and Water Quality in the Environment group. The thesis project focuses on assessing the impact of biodegradable (bio)plastics on agricultural soil functionality and on developing a sustainable biotechnological solution for their removal using microorganisms (Grant PIPF-2024/ECO-34251 funded by the Community of Madrid).
