Graduated in Biology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2022) and Master’s in Biodiversity from the same university (2023).
During her master’s thesis, she investigated the effects of soil contamination by heavy metals (Pb and Cu) on the moss Tortella squarrosa and the potential remedial effect of the cyanobacterium Nostoc commune. This research resulted in the presentation of three posters at the XX International Botanical Congress (2024), which solidified her interest in environmental pollution studies.
She is currently developing her doctoral thesis in the Water and Soil Quality in the Environment research group, focusing on the study of the release of chemical additives from microplastics in agricultural ecosystems and their impact on soil health and water quality. This research is funded by the Predoctoral Researcher Hiring Program (Grant PIPF-2023/ECO-30804 funded by the Community of Madrid). The thesis is framed in the AddiPlaS project (Grant PID2022-140011OB-I00 funded by MICIU/AEI /10.13039/501100011033 and by ERDF, EU).
