She graduated in Biology (2020) and holds a master’s degree in industrial and environmental biotechnology (2022) from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM).
During her studies, she collaborated with the Microbial Ecology and Biotechnology group at UCM, investigating microbial populations and interactions involved in nitrification, denitrification and biofouling processes in WWTP. Later, she worked at the CEIT Technology Center as a knowledge-transfer researcher, focusing on the transfer of scientific and technological advances to industry, particularly to companies in the Basque industrial sector and water-management entities. In this context, her projects were oriented towards waste valorisation and the improvement of water quality and management.
She currently works at IMDEA Water as a predoctoral researcher focusing on natural attenuation and global health risks associated with the presence of antibiotics in agricultural environments in the context of indirect water reuse (PIPF-2024/ECO-35722, funded by the Community of Madrid). This doctoral research is part of the Reuse4Food project (CIVP22S18420), funded by the Ramón Areces Foundation.
