In order to collaborate in research projects

A Chinese delegation visited IMDEA Water. This delegation was composed of researchers from the Hunan Agricultural University (China), a member of the Department of Science and Technology of the Hunan Provincial Government and a representative of ASEM Water.​

Besides knowing the research lines developed by the IMDEA Water Institute, the purpose of the meeting was to seek ways to collaborate on issues of common interest related to water, as well as possible participation in calls for funding research projects, especially those related to management of water resources and its impact on agriculture, since both China and many Mediterranean areas have similar problems like shortages of water to sustain crop production.

The delegation also visited the pilots installed in the experimental plant of IMDEA Water: land application systems that allow research and improvements in the purification of waste water for small populations, an electrogenic wetland for wastewater treatment and various mesocosmos used in the Ecotoxicology research line.
