I am an R4 Researcher at IMDEA Agua, where I am Coordinator and Principal Investigator of the WaterTheft (ERC CoG), TRANSCEND (Horizon Europe), TALANOA-WATER (H2020) and NATURA (Spanish Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan) projects, and Principal Investigator in the MARCLAIMED and IRENE (Spanish R&D Plan, 300 000 EUR) projects. I am also a fellow of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie, AXA Research Fund and Ikerbasque grants. I lead a group of 11 researchers at IMDEA Water and coordinate the Water Future Working Group on Economic Instruments for Water Security, an international network of 25 renowned researchers collaborating in the development of the pioneering Global Water Assessment. I have published extensively in leading international multidisciplinary peer-reviewed journals with high impact factor, including top journals such as Nature Sustainability. All these achievements have been maturing in the 10 years since I completed my PhD, which received the highest possible distinctions (summa cum laude and Extraordinary PhD Award 2016).
