Postdoctoral researcher at IMDEA Water in the WaterTheft project (ERC CoG). His career has focused on analyzing the complex relationships of agricultural systems in the territory. After completing his thesis, he carried out a three-year postdoctoral stay in Ecuador with the competitive Margarita Salas 2021 fellowship, researching ancestral practices and recovering information from mountain watersheds to apply it to European managed water systems. His work focuses on advanced hydrological modeling using the Soil Water and Assessment Tool (SWAT), and on analyzing edaphoclimatic relationships of crops and vegetation, using vegetation, through spectral indices, as spatiotemporal sensors. He is a reviewer for 17 scientific journals, including Scientific Reports (NATURE), Journal of Mountain Science (Springer), Remote Sensing, Water, Agriculture, Forest, Land (MDPI), among others. Additionally, he is part of the project evaluation committee of the National Institute of Agricultural Research – FIASA, Ecuador.
WaterTheft project is funded by the European Union’s HORIZONTE EUROPE research and innovation program under grant agreement no. 101124884.
