Ph.D. in Geology from the UCM, Professor of the Department of Geology, Geography and Environment of the University of Alcalá and Director of IMDEA Water. Among its lines of research, hydrogeology, quality and water reuse should be highlighted. She has participated in more than 80 projects and research contracts, being in 57 of them principal investigator, and she has carried out 32 projects for companies . The results are reflected in more than 200 works in journals, books and monographs, three patents and one software. She has directed 11 doctoral theses, 4 Bachelor thesis and more than 90 master’s thesis. It is also worth mentioning her activity as director of the Master’s Degree in Hydrology and Water Resources Management from 2006 to 2019, in addition to being part of the Teaching Committee of the Doctorate in Hydrology and Management of Water Resources.

She has won several research awards, 3 of them for the Consolider Tragua project (Social Council of UAH in 2007, International Water Association in 2012 and General Directorate of Scientific and Technical Research in 2012), and a second prize in 2012 in the Foundation 3M awards to Innovation for her work “Evolution of drug traces in urban wastewater treatment”.
