Haniyeh Salmani is a dedicated Ph.D. researcher specializing in hydrology, water resource management, and economic modeling. She holds a bachelor’s in project management engineering and a master’s in civil engineering with a focus on water resources management. Her research includes hydrological modeling, surface and groundwater interactions, and climate change impacts. Her master’s thesis, which applied the SWAT-MODFLOW model to a karstic basin, was published in Hydrogeology Journal.
Haniyeh currently contributes to the Transcend Project, specializing in socio-hydrological systems and hydro-economic modeling. Her work focuses on SWAT modeling, SNOW simulations, and coupling these with a microeconomic model (PMP) to study human-water systems under deep uncertainty and climate change. This project is funded be the European Union’s HORIZON EUROPE research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101084110.
Her main interest is in hydro-economic models that integrate hydrological and economic systems to support sustainable water resource strategies. Her work, recognized at international conferences and published in high-quality journals, reflects her commitment to advancing research in water and economic-environmental systems.
