She has a Degree in Chemistry obtained in the University Jaume I (UJI) of Castellón (2009) and an inter-university Master’s Degree in Applied Chromatographic Techniques (UJI, University Rovira i Virgili and University of Girona (2009-2010).

She started her PhD in 2010 in the Institute for Pesticides and Water of the University Jaume I, where she worked with gas and liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC-MS and LC-MS) in the food and environmental security fields. During the period as a PhD student, she did a research stay in the laboratory of the Analytical/Food Chemistry Division of the University of Messina (Italy), in which she analyzed biological samples by GCxGC.

She presented her research work in several national and international meetings and published it in scientific journals. She obtained the International PhD in Analytical Chemistry in 2014.

She is currently working in IMDEA Water as PhD head of the Chromatography Laboratory, in the Research and Development area. She has broad experience in the analysis of environmental samples including identification and quantification of organic microcontaminants by GC-MS and LC-MS. In the last years, she extended her work towards micro and nanoplastics field by using specialized techniques, as pyrolysis coupled to GC-MS, for the determination of different types of plastic polimers.
