Next Friday, 26 September, IMDEA Water will join Madrid’s European Researchers’ Night 2025 with a programme packed with science, the environment and citizen participation.

Under this year’s slogan, ‘Mission Science’, the institute will hold an open day where the public can learn about the work carried out by its research groups through interactive workshops, experiments, games and scientific demonstrations.

The activities, which are free of charge and open to all audiences, will be held at the IMDEA Water facilities located on the University of Alcalá Campus (Avenida Punto Com nº2, Alcalá de Henares).

On Friday afternoon, children, young people and adults will be able to learn first-hand how research is conducted to achieve more sustainable water management and how current challenges such as pollution, climate change and antibiotic resistance are being addressed.

This year, IMDEA Water is organising seven stands and a workshop, designed to enable participants to become protagonists in research:

BOOTHS – No prior booking required. 18:00-21:00

WORKSHOP – Reservations: eventos.agua@imdea.org (reservations for each workshop will be made in order of receipt of emails starting on 15 September at 9:00 a.m.)

NIGHTMADRID is a science outreach project, coordinated by the Fundación madri+d and funded by the European Union covered by the Horizon Europe Programme, belonging to the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions under grant agreement nº101.162.110

With this initiative, IMDEA Water reaffirms its commitment to open science, the promotion of scientific vocations, and the connection between research and society.
