IMDEA Water reinforces its commitment to research careers at the EURAXESS Spain network coordination meeting
IMDEA Water participated in the coordination meeting of the EURAXESS Spain service network, held on 15th and 16th September in Madrid. Within the framework of this strategic event, the institute presented the ERA Talent project within the Academia theme and highlighted its commitment to the development and professionalization of research careers through the MIA Programme.
During its presentation, the IMDEA Agua team outlined their comprehensive approach, based on three fundamental pillars: structured mentoring programs, specialized training, and career planning tools. This strategy is aligned with the priorities of the European Research Area (ERA), which strengthens the institute’s position in promoting attractive and sustainable research environments.
The meeting, organized by the EURAXESS Spain network, served as a space for the exchange of experiences and best practices among institutions committed to the mobility, attraction, and retention of research talent in Europe. The Director General of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (Fecyt), Izaskun Lacunza, opened the event by highlighting the importance of the network as a catalyst for the professional development of research staff and for strengthening inter-institutional collaboration.
In addition to the institutional presentations, attendees participated in collaborative workshops focused on key topics such as immigration and cultural diversity, essential aspects for consolidating inclusive and resilient scientific ecosystems.
The presentation at this meeting consolidates IMDEA Agua’s role in promoting active policies to support research careers, reaffirming its commitment to scientific excellence and strengthening the ERA.
