IMDEA Water signs an agreement with the Salvadoran Water Authority

IMDEA Agua and the Salvadoran Water Authority have signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of advancing and deepening the sustainable management of water resources in the Central American country.

The Director of IMDEA Water, Irene de Bustamante, has received the President of the Salvadoran Water Authority (ASA), Jorge Castaneda. During the meeting, impressions and common interests were exchanged, especially in wastewater treatment and the reuse of treated water, areas in which the institute has great scientific and technical capacity.

After the meeting, the different laboratories and pilot plants were visited to show the research that this center carries out in membrane technology, microbial electrochemical technologies or green filters, among others.

The visit concluded with the signing of an institutional agreement that will form the basis of the collaboration.

ASA, an institution committed to the protection and preservation of water resources in El Salvador, has among its strategic objectives the integrated management of water resources for the well-being of the population and the realization of the human right to water and sanitation through the development of innovative solutions.
